Working...
Hello, my name is Luke Thompson and I am excited to be entering my eleventh year as the Secondary Social Sciences teacher at Palmer and my sixteenth year of teaching overall. I have thoroughly enjoyed my ten years here and I look forward to continuing working in such a great community.
I was born and raised in Wolbach, graduating high school from Wolbach in 1999. After graduation, I spent 5 years in the United States Navy, spending time in Great Lakes, IL., San Diego, CA., and Dahlgren, VA,, before being stationed at my home port of Pascagoula, MS., onboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga (CG 47). I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the spring of 2009. As noted previously this is my 16th year as a classroom teacher spending previous years teaching at Elba Public Schools and Cedar Rapids Public Schools.
My wonderful wife Brenda, who is the 4th Grade teacher, and I have been married for eleven years. We have four children. Our three daughters are Layla (8), Jaylynn, (7), and Rikki (5) and our son Jaxton, who is 3. It has been a whirlwind the last few years, but we are so very blessed to have them in our family. We also have 2 Bassett Hounds Izzy and Zoey and a Miniature Schnauzer named Knox.
My parents Jay and Dodie are retired and live in St. Paul. I have an older sister, Meagan, who is married to Brian Wysocki and they live in Elba. I also have a younger brother, Ashton, who lives on the Pine Creek Indian Reservation near Battle Creek, Michigan with his wife Grace.
Once again, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work in Palmer and look forward to continuing my involvement in the Palmer community.
